Georgeta's puts her entire trust in her daughter Ioana- she is the future.

Georgeta is 25 years old and lives with her husband Daniel and their 2-year-old daughter Ioana in Romania. The family were living in cramped conditions as they shared an old house with the Dragomir family, with each family having a room.

The news that they had been accepted into the Habitat for Humanity programme gave Georgeta great joy. “To have our home means we won’t be on the road anymore. Renting is not safe, today you have a roof over your head but tomorrow you could be kicked out” says Daniel.

The family income consists of two minimum wages, as Georgeta works as a shop assistant and Daniel works as a lorry driver. Georgeta puts her entire trust in her daughter Ioana- she is the future. Because of this, every month, they try and save a little money so that when Ioana is old enough, she’ll be able to go to school.

Working with Habitat volunteers has inspired Georgeta and her family. “We want to do the same as them and with God’s support, help as many needy people as we can. The volunteers are an example for us all and we want to follow that example and from the little we have, to try and help those who are less fortunate than us.”

Please donate now to help more women like Georgeta build their own way out of poverty.
