Salary: £5.28 p/h - £10.42 p/h (depending on age) | Location: Belfast & Newtownards | Type: 25 hrs per week (Temporary for 6 months through the JobStart Scheme)

Working as part of the staff team to assist with day-to-day operations of Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Opportunities available in ReStore Belfast & Newtownards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide excellent customer service, handling customer queries.   

  1. Sort donated goods including the pricing and barcoding of stock  

  1. Ensure a high standard of presentation, display and merchandising of stock  

  1. Support the Donations Collection Team with the collection of donations in the Habitat van. 

  1. Be responsible foroperating the electronic Till system, including the booking of donation collections and processing payments. 

  1. Working with the Store Manager and Supervisor/s to market and promote items through social media platforms.    

  1. Assist with keeping the store clean and tidy and that health & safety regulations are adhered to.   

  1. Attend appropriate training as required.  

  1. Develop joinery and PAT testing skills, as need dictates 

There may also be an opportunity to engage in Habitat for Humanity's broader work; this could include activities such as supporting with schools/youth engagement or helping raise the awareness of the organisation at events. 

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION 

This role is being recruited through the JobStart scheme and is open to all 16-24 year olds. Please don’t be discouraged if you have never worked in retail, or have little experience. Full training and mentoring will be provided. This is an opportunity for you to work as part of a team, to learn new skills that will build your CV, and get experience that you can use in many roles going forward. Previous retail experience is not essential. We will provide all the necessary support and training for the role.

- Good interpersonal skills 

- Willingness to learn 

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team  (including with volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities)
