Welcome to Habitat’s Youth Advocacy Programme – Habitat's Ground Breakers programme seeks to engage and mobilise young people as effective advocates for housing.

Ground Breakers

Ground Breakers seeks to

  • Engage and mobilise

To engage and mobilise young people as effective advocates for housing. To provide information which is relevant for young people and which provides opportunities for them to understand that housing is critical in breaking the cycle of poverty; a catalyst which supports the delivery of the sustainable development goals.

  • Build Better Understanding

To build better understanding of the global need for shelter, and Habitat’s development approach, community based and locally driven but with global impact.

  • Ensure local housing issues understood

To ensure local issues of housing affordability and homelessness are understood.

Through online meet-ups; podcasts, volunteering locally, calls to action, advocacy events and regular communication - Ground Breakers will inspire action to end poverty housing whether here at home or globally.
